The Nemi R&D Team took off to sunny Greece this month for the JULIA project General Assembly, spending a productive few days in Thessaloniki with representatives from 13 project partners.
Discussions focussed on the upcoming pilots in Catalonia, Greece and Slovenia, aimed at enhancing public transport by leveraging Galileo and Copernicus satellite data. Nemi will work on implementing six demand-responsive transport pilots across Catalonia, Greece, and Slovenia, including a pioneering pilot using Autonomous Vehicles, a significant technological step forward for Nemi.
These pilots will connect residents in underserved areas to mobility hubs and ensure tourists can gain broader access to beautiful areas previously only accessible by private vehicle. Over the next few months, technical partners will continue to design JULIA’s tech, whilst Public Transport Operators work to finalise use cases before the pilots begin in 2025.
After a full day of meetings, the consortium enjoyed visiting Thessaloniki’s cycle lanes, which Lane Patrol assessed to monitor cycling infrastructure safety. Stay tuned to learn more about JULIA’s progress and the exciting pilots we have planned!
